You can also search the list archives from this same url.

The List Charter

This list is for the discussion of the Cincinnati Bengals specifically and professional football as it applies to the Bengals.

This forum is a very open arena for praise and criticism of the all facets of things pertaining to the Bengals including, but not limited to, their play, off field activities, past Bengals, front office performance, and Bengal fans. (It will be up to the discretion of the listowner to decide when the discussion is ranging too far off topic.)

During the course of discussion, you may disagree with someone else's opinion. It is quite alright to express a dissenting opinion but it must be expressed in a civil way, without being distasteful or personally insulting.

It is up to the discretion of the listowner as to what is distasteful or personally insulting.

Flame wars WILL NOT be tolerated on the Cincinnati Bengal Listserv List. Feel free to disagree with opinions, but DO NOT use the LISTSERV for personal attacks against someone's opinion or character.

Listmembers and their opinions will be treated with courtesy and respect on the list.

Offenders will be disciplined by the list owner and their memberships to the LISTSERV may be revoked.

The Listowner suggests that before posting, new members read the list for a few days and even call up some of the archives. In this manner, they can do a better job of fitting into the list and observing the netiquette of the list.

Modifying Your Account

The instructions for changing your options via the archive site are a little misleading.

So, here is a "step by step" procedure for changing your list options

If you have never used the archive site for changing your options and you do not have a listserv password

  1. Go to the registering your listserv password site
  2. Put in the email address that you are subscribed from and a password (twice).
  3. Click on the "register password" button, go to your email and wait for the message to confirm your registration (follow the instructions in the email message).
  4. Once your password is confirmed, go to the page that says login with your listserv password and log in
  5. This will take you to a menu with a long list of options with checkboxes that you can change. Once you change the options that you want, hit update and you'll get a message (at the top of the page) telling you that your options have already been updated.

If you have already used the archive site for changing options and remember your "listserv password".

  1. Go to the page that says login with your listserv password and log in
  2. This will take you to a menu with a long list of options with checkboxes that you can change. Once you change the options that you want, hit update and you'll get a message (at the top of the page) telling you that your options have already been updated.

The list is presently set up so that only those who are subscribed to the list can post to the list. If you subscribe and attempt to send mail to the list from an email address other than the one that you subbed from, your posting will be rejected.

If your email address changes for some reason, you can go to the archive web site and change it (See "step by step" procedure above, if you've never done it.).

The default options for members has recently been changed so that the header is in "sendmail style" (IETF) format. This is so that if a member wants to reply to a list message, the default is to the original sender of the message and not to the list. To send a reply to the list, the list member will have to purposely send it to the list. We have found that this elimnates many embarrassing moments of posts being sent to the list that were intended to be sent via back channel.

If you have any problems or questions about your list settings, please contact the listowner via email (not through the list).
