on pitchers but the fans and organization love him.
Who was the Reds' rookie hitter of the year?
- Edwin Encarnacion (14), I guess.
- Is there anybody besides Edwin that qualified as a rookie? The kid
who broke out the most has to be Felipe Lopez (3).

- Danny Graves (3), dah.
- Austin Kearns (2)
- Dave Miley
- Is there an echo here? I guess after Milton, I have to nod at D'Angelo Jimenez.
Not this season, but last season I thought he might put up a Bret Boone MVP type season.

- Ken Griffey Jr. (12)
- Adam Dunn (6)
- Felipe Lopez (2)
- Sean Casey

- This shows how much I like small ball and feel the Reds need toÊlearn how to accomplishÊit
......Dunn/WMP/Kearns (3)...too many K's for those HR's.

- Kent Mercker (6)
- Brian Shackleford
Who was the Reds' worst reliever?
- Danny Graves (18)
- Joe Valentine (2)
Who was the Reds' best defensive infielder?
- Felipe Lopez (8)
- Joe Randa (4)
- Rich Aurilia (3)
- Jason LaRue (2)\Javier Valentin tandem behind the plate.
- You know...Ryan Freel played a much better second base than I thought he would
- I don't know that I would call any of the reds infielders good.
- Don't Know.
- None.
Who was the Reds' worst defensive infielder?
- Sean Casey (4)
- Edwin Encarnacion (4) (but give him another year and look out).
- Ryan Freel (3)
- Adam Dunn (2)
- Felipe Lopez
- Luis Lopez
- A pitcher Ramon Ortiz seven errors on the mound.
- Jason LaRue
- Ray Olmedo
- So many choices. Felipe will get better.
Who was the Reds' best defensive outfielder?
- Ken Griffey Jr. (11)
- Austin Kearns (5)
- Adam Dunn
- Jacob Cruz a solid defenseman
- Pass
Who was the Reds; worst defensive outfielder?
- Willy Mo Pena (16) Every fly ball is an adventure in a small dimensional park.
- Adam Dunn (3) single handedly lost several games.
Who was the Reds' best base runner?
- Ryan Freel (12)
- Ken Griffey Jr. (5)
- Felipe Lopez
- Nobody was that good.
Who was the Reds' worst base runner?
- Sean Casey (8)
- Adam Dunn (3) and Dunn. First half and second half.
- Since there are really only two base stealers I'd have to say Felipe Lopez (2).
- Willy Mo Pena (2)
- I am not sure.
- Ryan Freel
- I know there was someone who was bad but can't remember who it was.
- Javier Valentin
Who was the Reds' most over-used player?

- Sean Casey (5)
- Rich Aurilia (2)
- Edwin Encarnacion
- Jason LaRue

- Austin Kearns (4)
- Willy Mo Pena (4)
- Matt Belisle (2)
- Edwin Encarnacion (2)
- Javier Valentin

- Jason LaRue
- Ryan Freel, let him start at second, his base stealing and above average hitting
makes up for below average d.
- Felipe Lopez
- Kent Mercker
- Ray Olmedo
- He was injured most of the year, but it seems really odd that Josh Hancock only
threw 14 innings all year and didn't get a single start.
What was the Reds' best trade?
- The dumping of Joe Randa to San Diego for Justin Germano and Travis Chick (16)
and bringing up Encarnacion. The only other trade I can think of would be the pickup
of Ramon Ortiz for Dustin Moseley and as much as I whined about it, that one didn't
turn out too terribly. After watching Jim Bowden make 3 trades before breakfast
every day, watching Dan O'Brien is like watching a glacier.
- Jose Guillen for Aaron Harang last year.
- Don't Know.
- None.
What was the Reds' worst trade?
- Dustin Moseley for Ramon Ortiz (5). He isn't worth spit.
- Not trading Rich Aurilia (3) for whatever they could get for him.
- Jose Acevedo (2) to Colorado for Allan Simpson.
- Not trading Sean Casey (2).
- Chris Reitsma for 'nothing'.
- The Eric Milton one.
- Joe Randa.
- Ben Weber.
- Sometimes the worst trade is the one you don't make. I still think not pulling
the trigger on a deal for Junior was a mistake.
- Getting Rich Aurilia if he came in a trade.
What was the Reds' best roster move?
- Goodbye Danny Graves (12).
- Calling Up Edwin Encarnacion (2).
- Cutting Anderson Machado (2).
- Demoting D'Angelo Jimenez.
- Signing Joe Randa.
- Benching Rich Aurilia after he stunk up the joint to start the season.
What was the Reds' worst roster move?
- Signing Eric Milton (4).
- Keeping Kearns (3) down in AAA for as long as he was.
- Resigning Paul Wilson (2).
- Signing Anderson Machado (2).
- Not trading Austin Kearns or Willy Mo Pena.
- Not cutting Eric Milton.
- Trading Joe Randa.
- D'Angelo Jimenez.
- Not Also Dumping Rich Aurilia.
- Letting Rich Aurilia start most every day after the All-Star break when
they could have been trying out 2nd basemen to see what we've got.
- The Reds had a nice little collection of AAAA talent in Jason Romano,
Chris Booker and Jared Fernandez. Essentially, they turned all that into a pumpkin.
What was the best move by the Reds' manager?
- Moving Dunn (4) and Jr to 3rd & 4th in lineup.
- Getting Casey out of #3 spot (4).
- Playing Felipe Lopez (2) full time at shortstop.
- Jerry Narron stabilizing the lineup.
- Which Manager?
- Jerry Narron finally trying some sensible batting orders that didn't involve
Adam Dunn batting 7th.
- Putting Dunn at cleanup.
- Hiring Jerry Narron as manager.
- Narron showing confidence in Encarnacion.
- Staying with Griffey after his April start.
- I didn't always like it at the time, but the handling of Rich A was actually
pretty good. They got Felipe into the lineup and got really good offensive
production out of the middle infield.
- Leaving.
- Not Applicable.
What was the worst move by the Reds' manager?
- Letting Milton start all season (4).
- Miley keeping Casey in the 3rd spot for so long (3).
- Dave Miley juggling the lineup like a hockey coach juggles lines.
- Dave Miley's number 2 hitter choices.
- Rich Aurilia hitting cleanup.
- Eric Milton appearing in uniform.
- Miley - Attempting to alienate your best players (Dunn & Junior).
- Letting Paul Wilson pitch injured.
- Anytime Graves went into the game.
- Weathers as closer. Using a closer at all.
- Sticking with Milton.
- Batting Dunn 6th or 7th.
- Making Dunn hit with a middle infielder or a catcher behind him for
most of the season. And then acting surprised that he didn't get anything to hit.
- Staying.
- Which Manager?
Who should be the next manager (or retain Miley)?
- Retain Miley (9)
- I like Miley, but I think we need, Griffey, Sr., Frank Robinson, or maybe even Bobby V.
Who is the Reds' best hitting prospect?
- Edwin Encarnacion (9) (if he qualifies).
- Joey Votto (3)
- Chris Denorfia (2)
- Willy Mo Pena
- Austin Kearns
- Do the Reds have prospects?
- Don't know.
- Pass.
Who is the Reds' best pitching prospect?
- Homer Bailey (5)
- Brandon Claussen (2)
- Richie Gardner (2)
- Do the Reds have prospects (2)?
- Justin Germano
- Chris Booker
- Ryan Wagner
- I wish I knew.
- The future is bleak. What the hell. Bubba Nelson.
- Pass.
- None.

- Eric Milton (13)
- Sean Casey (5)
- Ken Griffey, Jr
- Danny Graves
Who is the most underpaid Red?
- Felipe Lopez (11)
- Adam Dunn (4)
- Javier Valentin (2)
- None (2) of the bums are underpaid.
- Aaron Harang
Was hiring Jerry Narron the right move?
- YES! (10), by far.
- Sure ... he was hired as a coach prior to 2004 season. He shouldn't be manager, however.
- Probably. If you have not made up you mind about Dan O'Brien, this pretty much gets
rid of his last excuse. Narron is his guy. Without change at the top, it doesn't
really matter who the skipper is.
- Probably not, but it won't matter.
- No. (4) More of the same.
- NO - spend the money get Pinella / Tracy / Leyland / other.
- Not a bad move, but not the right move.
If you were in charge, what one move would make before next year?
- Eric Milton (5) isn't wearing a Reds uniform next year, even if it means eating
his salary. A bag of baseballs would do.
- Trade Casey (3) and Rich Aurilia (if signed) for a front line pitcher.
- New front office and ownership (2).
- Fire Dan O'Brien (2).
- Acquire a pitching ace.
- Sign Dunn to a 10-year contract .
- Trade Adam Dunn.
- Pitching, pitching, pitching. Whatever it takes. I guess my one move would be to ensure that Eric
- I WOULD HAVE PAT ROBERTSON "TAKE OUT" ERIC MILTON. You know, for dinner. Wink, wink.
- Attempting to move (in order of preference) Casey, Pena, or Kearns (plus whatever you needed to) for a #1 starter.
- I maintain that Jason LaRue is part of the problem. I think he's a terrible defensive catcher.
- Increase the payroll enough to keep team as it is with the exception of pitching. I
would try to sign as close to a #1 as possible, not just one that meets the payroll.
- Deal Pena for pitching prospect.
What was your favorite list topic?
- Slamming Dan O'Brien.
- My memory is too short.
- WAS THERE A GOOD ONE?
- Whatever. Any are OK.
- Surveys - should do a mid- year one.
- Eric Milton and his pursuit of the HR record.
- Adam Dunn.
- Reading everyone's thoughts on Adam Dunn being so great.
- How bad Milton is.
- Danny Graves unconditional release and his antics.
- There were many.
- Game analysis.
- Lineup alternatives.
- The myth of strikeouts and Sac Flies.
- Pass.
- None.
What was your best memory of the season?
- Joe Randa's walk-off homerun. First game. (4).
- GRIFFEY JR. (3) PLAYING SO WELL.
- Adam Dunn's back to back blasts in San Diego inÊJulyÊ(I was there, right next to the Reds dugout).
- Sparky Anderson day at the park.
- When we got hot right after the All Star break.
- A handful of Dunn's monster HR.
- The many blasts off the bats of Griffey and Dunn.
- Listserv game and the tour of the HOF/Museum.
- Pena bobblehead night - I was there - Pena hit 2 HRs, the 2nd to win the game.
- Development of younger players, e.g. Claussen, Lopez, Harang.
- Back to back to back.
- Felipe Lopez breaking out.
- None that I'm aware of, went to six games and they managed to lose all of them. Perhaps, Danny Graves finger, that was exciting.
- When it ended.
